Welcome to Safe Refuge Ministries!

​Safe Refuge Ministries (SRM) began as a seed the Lord placed deep in Pastor LaVonne Arrington’s heart in August 2020—a burden, a vision, and a steady “yes” that grew stronger through prayer. After months of seeking God, studying His Word, and following the leading of the Holy Spirit, that vision became a living ministry on December 19, 2021.

SRM was established in the state of Maryland as a discipleship church—because we believe discipleship is not a program, a class, or a season. It’s a lifestyle. It’s learning to follow Jesus daily, becoming rooted in His truth, and being transformed by His presence.

At the center of everything we do is the gospel of Jesus Christ—the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16) and the message that brings life, freedom, and maturity (1 Corinthians 1:18). We preach and teach the Word to help people not only come to Christ, but grow in Christ—to know who they are as children of God, to develop spiritual maturity, and to walk boldly in the purpose God has for their lives.

We are a church family committed to loving God, and loving one another. Whether you are new to faith, returning to church, or ready to go deeper, there is a place for you here. Our prayer is that when you encounter SRM, you will find a place that can lead you to experience  safe refuge in Jesus Christ, and where God’s Word is honored, hearts are healed, and lives are shaped into disciples who follow Jesus with faith and loving obedience.
